Supervision

The art of holding

I offer supervision for practicing clinicians, Associates in Washington State, qualifying counsellors and psychotherapists in Canada, and serve as a practicum site for counselling students. In addition to being a Jungian Analyst, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State and a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) in BC. I am an approved supervisor for most mental health licenses and registrations in Washington and Canada.

Group Supervision and Consultation

This ongoing online supervision group offers a supportive and reflective space for clinicians interested in psychoanalytical and Jungian-informed clinical work. This group is open to fully licensed/registered clinicians, LMFT and LICSW Associates working towards licensure in Washington State, and Canadian clinicians collecting supervision hours to become an RCC or RCSW in BC or an RP in Ontario.

Each session is three hours. Together we explore clinical cases, transference and countertransference, dreams and other symbolic material, ethical challenges, professional development, and the personal dimensions of therapeutic practice. The group welcomes participants from a variety of theoretical orientations who are interested in bringing greater depth, imagination, and self-reflection to their work.

Up to six attendees per session. Attendance is flexible. There is no requirement to attend every session. Registration is first-come, first-served. The fee is $150 per three-hour session.

Click the date link below to register for individual sessions. Times are in Pacific/Western Canada time zone. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for future group supervision dates, please email me at leanne@leannedownsjungian.com

My Supervision Style

I am passionate about the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship. My approach to supervision is grounded in the living reality of the the relationship between practitioner and client rather than a focus on technique. I see supervision as a relational, reflective, collaborative space where your own therapeutic identity can take shape and deepen. Together, we will explore the transference and countertransference dynamics that unfold between you and your clients, attending to the psychodynamics of the therapeutic relationship as a vessel for growth and transformation, both for the client and the therapist.

Supervision becomes a process of discovering how your personal psychology, intuition, and imagination participate in the work, and how the Self guides and shapes your presence as a therapist.
